Most of my ancestors came from England, so I'm definitely an anglophile. Much as I love London and Cambridge, I want to visit the Lancashire area someday and do some genealogy investigating. That's where the ancestors were before they migrated to Virginia in the 1600's.
I also loved the town of Tours, France when I visited there once a long time ago. There was this one particular hotel I stayed at (unfortunately now remodeled) that made me especially happy. I knew from a book I had read, that Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald had stayed in this hotel in the 1920's. It was quite old and had just one small creaky elevator. I remember stepping into it and thinking 'Zelda rode this elevator.' I've always been fascinated by Zelda, so I couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking when she first stepped into the spot where I was now standing.

This is so interesting! I have the same feelings regarding Mata Hari. When I went to Holland I wanted to visit the places she lived in and I felt somewhat strange while having such feelings. I have a book about her and I always try to find out more about the places she lived in like the old Sri Lanka, Java. You are definitely a cultural traveller and I thank you for sharing here your thoughts about that test.
