Painters B'Gone

Yea, snarky painters are gone from my house. I did feel sorry for them having to shove around my heavy bookcases. Heard one of the guys say to his bosslady "What's the matter with these people? Don't they know how to use a Kindle!?" So I stuck my head in the room and told him "Honey, I don't even like new books." Which is true; I buy used books all the time. My books aren't for collecting, they're for reading, and I don't want to worry about keeping them in nicey-nice condition. But anyway, painters drove off about an hour ago and I swear I am never doing this again. (Famous last words that will probably come back to bite me).

on 2010-04-17 01:55 am (UTC)I'm a bibliophile in all senses and I'm afraid I do like to keep my books both nicey-nice and to read! I can be particularly insane about the former too, embarrassingly. But I love old, old books too.
But if I had heard someone say that of my books, I don't know what my reaction would have been. 'You are soul-less' or something equally ineffectual like that, probably.
