Crazy Houston Drivers

I flew back to Atlanta yesterday after spending the weekend in Houston, TX at my first ever Revelcon (where a good time was had by all. Thanks much, ladies). Not only was the con lots of fun, but so was the local shopping, and the restaurants were great. Turned out the hotel restaurant was being remodeled, so that meant lots of eating out. Canyon Cafe, Maggiano's, Sweetgrass; all were good and Canyon Cafe was so good we went twice. I've got to say though, that the Houston drivers were all, as my friend Connie pronounced them "Batshit Crazy!" Not only do they all fly (what speed limit?), but they do it right on your bumper and then lay on the horn if you don't jump out the very split second the light changes. I saw more near wrecks this weekend than I've seen in the past six months. Never thought I would say this, but they made the drivers in Atlanta seem sedate. I don't think I will ever complain about Atlanta drivers again. I do give Connie props though; she whipped out what she called her "Chicago driving talents" and got us everywhere we wanted to go. She even backed down a super-rude yuppie in a big ol' SUV and claimed us a parking space. He might have been waving his hands around and yelling, but we had the '5-women-in-a-car glare.' We won.

LOL! I almost got side-swiped and the woman got mad at me! She didn't even bother looking, but took over my space on the highway while I was still in it. Then she gave me the evil eye. Still, we made it back to the airport in record time. No traffic but crappy weather.

Revel is always fun. Each year just gets better.

I only remember in San Antonio Texas, that was very dangerous. I have never been to Atlanta, but in San Antonio, when I went there twice, the cars were just driving by themselves I should say!;-)
